My Travel Broker Vision

To give my clients a real point of difference when planning their travel by providing a level of personal service rarely matched by my larger competitors.

Becoming a Travel Broker in 2004 my aim was to provide a level of personal service that has meant over the years I have built up many fabulous relationships with my clients. This has seen many of them refer family, friends and business associates to me.
After 10 years working as a broker I decided to launch my own travel brand My Travel Broker. Travel is a dynamic and exciting industry to be in and in seeking a partner to help me with this transition I was thrilled to be able to align myself with Air New Zealand Holidays Brokers. This has provided me the very best technology, product and support the industry can offer.  This alliance along with the strong relationships I have built up with a number of key airlines, local tour companies, and cruiselines means my clients have a larger range of choice at the same time accessing really competitive pricing.

I strongly believe that there is no one fit for everyone and with this in mind I take every opportunity to conduct site visits and attend workshops to enable me to make more informed suggestions to assist my clients making their choices.

My passion for travel really began when my Dad told me about his travels when he was my age. Hearing his stories and those of others who came back from holiday really made me envious!  At that point it didn't matter if it was to Australia or UK I just wanted to travel, little did I know that once I got the travel bug it was here to stay!

After graduating it appeared jobs in the Travel Industry were hard to come by, but just a year after I completed high school I was lucky enough to have the chance to pursue this as a career.  I have been in the industry for 5 years now and have travelled to Australia, the Pacific Islands, Asia and the Americas. I have so many more destinations that I would like to visit, such as South America, the UK and Europe but it seems as though there aren't enough weeks in the year to get to them all. My  ultimate dream and bucket list destinations are the Greek Islands and an African Safari - who wouldn't love that!

Come on down and speak to myself or one of the team at My Travel Broker Timaru where we can start planning your next    adventure - there is no time like the present so why put off until tomorrow what you can do today!

Baz and Trace 003A love of history, art and food combined with a curious mind led me to the world of travel. An avid reader, I devoured books on subjects as varied as Roman architecture, Moroccan cooking and the biographies of Gengis Khan, Alexander the Great and the Pharaohs of Egypt. A year of travel took me on an odyssey to all the places I had read about for so long and I joined the ranks of those fortunate enough to live out their dream of visiting far-flung lands.
I have managed and owned my own café and retail business but more recently I have been managing Maree Hynes Interiors following another passion; creating beautiful spaces. People are the driving force behind all I do, with a desire to share in the realisation of long-held dreams. Growing up in Timaru I have the utmost respect for my good fortune to be part of a supportive community and to have met and worked with many great people.
Having our daughter, Dani at a young age kept my husband, Barry, and I grounded but travelling later in life has its merits. Driving a camper across Morocco, walking the Lycian Way in Turkey and picking olives in Italy are just some of the adventures we have enjoyed as well as exploring the outdoors in New Zealand.

Jill4leeI've spent the last 12 years or so working as in international tour manager taking New Zealanders to countries as diverse as Ireland and Guatemala, Montenegro to Bhutan.I combine this with my travel writing which has seen me publish three books of travel adventures along with hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. Currently I write for eight Fairfax provincial daily newspapers, including the Timaru Herald and am a regular contributor to Latitude magazine. I've been named NZ Travel Writer of the Year and won numerous other writing awards over the years.

I love travel (there's some nomad genes in the mix somewhere I am sure) and writing but what gives me some of the greatest pleasure is being able to introduce other people to some of the amazing places on our planet. Making sure they have the very best time and that they have nothing to worry about other than enjoying themselves is my aim. Some of my regulars have travelled with me up to 10 times, to all corners of the world.

I've also been so fortunate to have made some lifelong friends in many of the countries I visit. I am now working with many of these friends to prepare itineraries for you that can really only be developed by people with an intimate and deep love of their home countries and who are now also very familiar with how Kiwis like to travel (and who are now really good at understanding the Kiwi accent!).
